Project summary
The project team have piloted capital works at one site to prevent the effects of flooding and erosion.
Training was conducted with the National Museums of Kenya staff on risk assessments and disaster response and recovery, while local residents took part in the training programme highlighting the heritage value of the sites and the threats that natural disasters pose.
Throughout the project, local communities and stakeholders engaged in identifying deterioration within living memory to ascertain potential threats at each site.
