Project summary 

This project protected Palestine’s tangible and intangible heritage through restoration, training and skills exchange. 

Work focused on the 4th century St Hilarion monastery in Gaza, which has been at severe risk of destruction due to conflict in the region. The project restored one of the monastery’s mosaics and trained local students and professionals in restoration techniques. Young people wiere also trained in oral history techniques and began to collect and document their intangible cultural heritage.
