Project summary

Nuristani languages were severely repressed under Taliban rule who promoted their own language, Pashto, above all others. The Nuristani people continue to be deeply affected by conflict and poverty which has devastated educational policies.

This project has improved the literacy of over 90 students, with 30 becoming fully literate. New books have been created and recordings of stories and songs have been shared among local Nuristani districts.
